Contrary to common misconceptions, GW0742 is not a new SARM; rather, it belongs to the same category of PPAR delta agonists as Cardarine.
There are suggestions that GW0742 was primarily developed to extend GlaxoSmithKline’s patent on Cardarine. When examining the chemical structure of GW0742, it becomes evident that there is only a minor variation of a single atom between the two substances, indicating that GW0742 may not differ significantly from Cardarine and could have comparable effects.
GW0742 functions similarly to all PPAR delta agonists. It essentially serves two main purposes: converting fat into energy and enhancing the oxidative capacity of muscles.
As such, GW0742 is expected to be highly beneficial for improving endurance in athletes. However, there have been no studies, even on animals, investigating the relationship between GW0742 and endurance. Additionally, GW0742 has been shown to enhance insulin sensitivity, potentially reducing the risk of developing type II diabetes, as demonstrated by research conducted on rats. Unfortunately, there are currently no human trials involving GW0742. Since the compound is still relatively new, we can anticipate more human studies in the future.
